New Statewide Poll: Daniel Cameron Holds Massive Early Lead in Race for Governor
Louisville – The campaign of Daniel Cameron for Governor today released the findings of an initial statewide survey taken this week showing Attorney General Daniel Cameron more than 30 points ahead of his closest competitor in the primary.
The data shows that Cameron is far and away the best positioned to take on Andy Beshear. Across all demographics, and markets, Cameron is leading the field by a wide margin. Overall, on the combined ballot, which includes leaners, Cameron sits at 46% to his nearest competitor at 9%.
There is no subgroup of voters or region of the state where Cameron shows any electoral weakness. His image rating sits at 59-11 favorable to unfavorable, making him the second most popular statewide candidate in all of Kentucky behind Senator Rand Paul, who is currently in cycle and running an aggressive, well-funded campaign.
Among self-identified strong Trump supporters, Cameron is receiving 52% of the vote.
Statement from Cameron Strategist Brandon Moody:
“Daniel and his wife, Makenze, are honored and humbled to have such deep statewide support at this early stage. We know it’s early and take nothing for granted. We know Daniel will be the subject of unprovoked attacks during this campaign, but we’re focused on building a movement across the Commonwealth that can defeat Andy Beshear and restore conservative leadership to the Governor’s office.”
